Summer Starts with a Bang

It's late. I'm sleepy. I have work tomorrow. I should be sleeping. But instead, dear reader, I am here, typing out something for your reading pleasure. *scratches her head*

Well, term finished. I passed all my classes. Still haven't managed to get an A in a Course VI class (a class in my major). Sigh. But it's over, and now it's summer. Not that you'd be able to tell, since it's been raining all day and I've been waiting for this stupid thunder-storm to end because I refuse to go to sleep while there's all this lightning and thunder going on outside. <_<;

I'm all moved into my summer room - it's in the other tower of my dorm. Looks an awful lot like my normal room, only smaller. I'll be working at the library this week, then I'm going home for a week, then I'm on vacation in Tortola (British Virgin Islands = warm water diving, woot woot!) with my dad. Then I come back here for the Women's Technology Program, for which I am going to be a comp sci tutor. I get to teach high school girls Java! Then, when that finishes at the end of July, I go back to working at the library and looking for a research job. It's going to be a busy summer... o_o;

Oh my goodness, it's been so long since I've written in this! Well, let's see, things that have happened since May 5th. We finished our Antichess game! It came out quite nicely. I still need to turn it into a standalone application and stick it on the web somewhere. That's tomorrow's project, I suppose. Like I said, I'm in the other tower in my dorm - two doors down from Sarah. I didn't help Vikki move. I feel like a bum. But then again, if you're moving to another dorm, perhaps you should make moving plans a little earlier than 'spontaneously as your friend is trying to move all her stuff too'.

Ah! I also bought myself a DDR pad as an end-of-term present. A rather nice one with hard foam - works great on my West Tower tile floor. Not so well in my East Tower room - it slides a bit on the carpet. It's a lot of fun, and I like to think that it's good exercise. I brought it home when I went home this weekend, and it was a big hit with my sisters. I totally got Alissa hooked. >:D My friends' reactions to my pad have been varied and amusing. Vikki was all 'ooh, I am going to visit you a lot', Vivian was all 'I want to try it', Amy was like 'that's so cool but I have to go home to Mississippi now', and Sarah was all, 'you are such a FREAK!'. It's too excellent.

Hrm. I don't think it's even raining any more. I should have gone to bed hours ago. *kicks herself* This happens all too often. Oh, I made a clay dragon tonight since I didn't have anything better to do. It's really been a while... *shakes her head* Anyway, I'm off, since I do have work tomorrow.
